Ebb and Flow

This exhibition of work by members of the 62 Group will run concurrently at Grimsby Minster and the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre and will be accompanied by an extensive education programme.

Grimsby in N E Lincolnshire UK, the location for the exhibition was once the largest and busiest fishing port in the world and was known as ‘The Klondyke of the East Coast.’ The title of the exhibition lends itself to an open interpretation of the theme; including the ebb and flow of life and fluctuating fortunes, of the sea and the rhythm of the fishing industry, of time, and the migration of people to and from the area. Isolation is the other underlying theme referencing geographical location, the personal experience of those working at sea and of those they left behind.
