Kantha Quilting

Artist Workshop

Lynn Setterington

British Textile Biennial Artist

This one day workshop explores contemporary kantha quilting using a range of recycled materials.

The emphasis is on re-appropriating used fabrics and to investigate new ways of interrogating and reinventing hand stitch. The session focuses on sampling and testing ideas rather than producing a finished piece of work.

Materials – bring a few hand embroidery threads and needles – not just stranded cottons, if you can find them and half a metre of old soft cotton cloth such as a pillowcase and the same amount of polyester wadding. We will be able to swap and share threads and cloth so only small quantities are required.
