Making Space
Our next exhibition will be Making Space at the Silk Museum in Macclesfield. The exhibition runs from 17 June 2016 to 3 September 2016. The theme ‘Space’ ties in with the overall theme of Biennial Barnaby Arts Festival which runs from 17 to 26 June 2016. 62 Group members have been invited to interpret the theme in its widest sense so you can expect a diverse response resulting in a varied and inspiring exhibition.
The Silk Museum on Park Lane, Macclesfield follows the full journey through the industrial process of silk making; explore silk from the cocoon to the loom. With plenty of hands-on exhibits for children and adults alike. The Museum houses our permanent exhibition which explores the properties of silk, design education, Macclesfield’s diverse textile industries, workers lives, Macclesfield Silk during the war and historic machinery – as well as hosting temporary exhibitions.
